GWYNETH PALTROW shared her New Year’s hangover remedies in Goop, and knowing how high society the Goop mistress likes to live her life, we were actually surprised some of her cures were do-able…for us lesser mortals, that is.
Gwyneth, who’s admitted to being a lush despite looking oh, so prim and proper, has her own slew of hangover remedies which she says would go well in hand the day after a raucous New Year’s Eve celebration the night before. And if you’re thinking maybe you’d like to aspire to the kind of life Gwyneth lives, check out some of her hangover tips:
“We all know what happens on NYE so here is our best to help you prepare for the day after,”
Gwyneth wrote in one of her Goop newsletters, citing medical advice from professionals including Dr. Frank Lipman and Dr. Oz Garcia.
She recommends a Mercy health elixir, which Gwyneth swears is…
“packed with amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herbs that protect your system against the inevitable hangover and that flush you can get from drinking.”
Uh…how much does this Mercy concoction cost? Not a whole year’s salary, surely?
“I’ve been known to recreate this experience at home too. Just draw a bath that is as hot as you can handle it and mix in some Epsom Salts and Baking Soda,”
Gwyneth continues to write, undeterred.
“Soak for twenty minutes and then pop into a freezing cold shower for 1 minute. Get back in the hot bath and stay until you’re warmed up. Then get back in the shower for 1 more minute.”
Which is a pretty good one, assuming you have the strength to climb out of the trash bin/park bench/boot of your car/from under your beer can strewn sofa to get to the bathroom.
Oh, wait…you’re probably already parked by the commode where you’ve fallen asleep puking the night before. So Happy New Year! And have a great time getting sober…
