RIHANNA has just been named top selling digital artist of all time by Nielsen SoundScan’s Top Ten Selling Digital Artists list after selling 47.5 million units of digital tracks between July 4, 2004 to January 1, 2012.
The large volume of work comprised of her six albums released during that period, beginning with “Music of the Sun,” have contributed to her success as a recording artist. In fact, Rihanna is ahead by 5 million tracks over her her closest contenders, the Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Lady Gaga, each of whom have sold within the 42 million range, and Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Kanye West, and Britney Spears, who round out the top 10 list…
And while the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga have two songs each on the Top Ten Selling Digital Songs and Top Ten Selling Digital Albums lists, Rihanna‘s overall top ranking make her a winner.
