According to recent celebrity news, KATY PERRY and RUSSELL BRAND never wanted to sign a prenup… because they respected each other too much.
Oh, and because they never actually had time to kick one up.
Since there was no prenup between Russell and Katy, the community property law takes effect, which means everything they both earned while they were married will be divided 50/50. And since Katy earned more than Russell did, she stands to lose more.
But, as previously reported, Russell has refused to take the $20 million (of Katy’s hard-earned money) that he is entitled to in their divorce. And, according to sources, both he and Katy have no regrets about not signing a prenup.
TMZ reports:
“Katy and Russell‘s marriage happened so fast, they never really had the opportunity to summon their lawyers and hash out a prenup … nor did either really believe they needed one.”
The site continues:
“…both felt comfortable one wouldn’t screw the other in the event of a divorce — they both knew where the other person stood on money, life, religion … everything.”
Also, according to TMZ’s source:
“Russell is a very simple person who doesn’t need much to make him happy. He would never take money that [Katy] earned. That’s not Russell. And if it was the other way around, Katy wouldn’t have taken it either. They respect each other too much.”
Wow. What an amicable divorce… who knew that could happen in Hollywood?

Katy seems a little out there lol. Then again, I hdrlay know her. But if Russell chose her, then she’s gotta have something. He’s also said being with her has made him happier than he’s ever been. I hate people bagging out Russell. I really respect him, and the only aspect I dislike about him is probably his want to be the centre of attention and his overly sexual nature.
