NICKI MINAJ hates it when she gets compared to LADY GAGA, celebrity gossip websites have learned.
You should be honored, Nicki!
They both wear crazy outfits, insanely colorful wigs, and bright makeup, but Nicki insists that despite their shared interest in crazy fashion, she and Gaga have nothing in common.
When asked during an interview with “Nightline” if the comparisons with Gaga “offend” her, Nicki answered:
“Offend me, no. Irks me, yeah.”
She added:
”First of all, I’m a rapper… I’m from Southside Jamaica, Queens.”
And when the interviewer pointed out that she and Gaga were similar because of their outlandish outfits and colorful wigs, the “Beez In a Trap” rapper replied:
“Wigs? Every female in this game wears wigs. Over-the-top costumes? Eh, try again.”
After stubbornly refusing to acknowledge the similarities, Nicki added:
“It’s getting tired now to me. In the beginning I was like, ‘Okay, it’s cool. When they get to know me they’ll understand me.’”
But despite her irritation at the comparison, Nicki had nothing but good things to say about the Mother Monster. She said:
“Gaga is a fantastic artist… She’s paved her way. She’s opened her own lane.”
Nicki added:
“But I feel like I have my own lane, and we never cross… EVER!”
Hmm. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
