NIGEL BARKER has one thing to say about his shocking “America’s Next Top Model” firing:
I don’t think it’s a good idea!
As previously reported by Hollywood celebrity gossip, Nigel Barker and fellow “America’s Next Top Model” judges and mentors J. Alexander and Jay Manuel were all fired from the show after nine years and 18 seasons.
Barker, who found out about the news yesterday, tells TMZ:
“Good luck to whoever [replaces me]. I would imagine it’s a tricky thing to replace someone who’s going on their 19th season.”
The photographer also took to his official site to share the news:
“After many fun filled years with America’s Next Top Model, I will not be returning to the program for cycle 19… I will miss the cast, the crew and ANTM will always have a special place in my heart, having made life-long friendships with countless fond memories.”
When asked if he knew why they were unceremoniously ousted from the show, Nigel admits that it was likely due to the fact that ratings had been very low for the last two seasons, and the network execs had decided to correct that by giving the show a complete revamp… starting with the judges.
He muses:
“Who knows if this is going to work? I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea … Maybe it will work. Maybe it won’t. I wish them luck.”
Do you think it was a good idea?
