“Queen of Disco” DONNA SUMMER has recently died, and celebrity news reveals that people close to her think it was because of the effects of the tragedy in New York that we all know is the 9/11 bombing incident.
Donna died at the age of 63 in Florida on Thursday morning because of lung cancer, and sources say that she actually blames the World Trade Center bombing incident last September 11 for her condition—not all those cigarettes that she had smoked and had been exposed to in the past.
Apparently, the “Last Dance” singer had been living on Ground Zero where toxic air had wafted for days after the tragedy… and she feared that she inhaled enough of it to get lung cancer.
TMZ reported:
“Sources close to the singer tell TMZ what we were hearing this morning — that Donna was in New York City during 9/11, living at an apartment near Ground Zero.”
The site added:
“Donna became almost paranoid about breathing the air, which was heavy with a rancid odor.”
The singer couldn’t seem to keep the pollution away from her too, as the site continued:
“In the months and years following 9/11, Donna‘s feelings intensified. One source tells us when he was around Donna, she would constantly spray some sort of disinfectant in the air. Deney Terrio, the host of “Dance Fever,” tells us … when he was around Donna post 9/11, she would hang silk sheets in her dressing room to prevent dust from coming in.”
What’s even weirder is that she minutely blames the terrorist attack itself as well:
“And one source says … Donna, who was a fervent practicing Christian, believed 9/11 was an attack on Christianity and in some metaphysical way Christians like her were targets. She somehow felt that her illness was a byproduct of the attack.”
That’s crazy. Would she really get lung cancer because of that? Or was it just the cigarette smoke? After all, the site did reveal that she had way too much exposure to it:
“She was a smoker, and she also frequented clubs where people smoked. But Donna simply didn’t buy it.”
Of course. The heaviest puffers always have the hardest time blaming the smoke for illnesses.
