According to the latest celebrity news, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” actress Zhang Ziyi is currently being investigated for alleged prostitution that reportedly earned her $110 million.
No way!
Who could forget the sexy chinky-eyed heartthrob, Zhang Ziyi, who stole all our hearts with her undeniable beauty in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”? Now Chinese media are claiming that she recently did way more than that to filthy rich Chinese communist officials to earn big money away from Hollywood.
If so, then she may have brought way too much life into her character in “Memoirs of a Geisha”…
According to the Daily Mail:
“Zhang Ziyi, star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, has been forced to deny lurid claims that she earned £64million by prostituting herself to a string of powerful Chinese men.”
Reports also say that the actress has also been accused numerous times of sleeping with the former mayor of Chongquing, Bo Xilai. The site revealed details of the report:
“According to reports in China, [Zhang] slept with Bo at least ten times between 2007 and 2011 in exchange for ‘huge’ monetary gifts. The secret trysts are alleged to have taken place in Beijing and to have netted the actress around £1million each time.”
Other powerful Beijing officials were said to have slept with Zhang, such as Chinese businessman, Xu Ming, who reportedly admitted to paying the actress up to £600,000 for their first time in 2007, making it a total of £18million all in all. And reports insist that there had been other instances besides the ones with Bo and Xu.
She may have avoided tax upon receipt, so China is reportedly investigating Zhang and has not allowed her to leave the country, which led to her absence from the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her new film, the new version of “Dangerous Liaisons.”
Zhang and her team continue to deny the allegations. China.org.cn reports that the team’s statement said:
“During the last month, Zhang Ziyi has been busy working day and night on the set of ‘The Grandmasters.’ Why should this devoted and responsible actress have to suffer this kind of slander and defamation?”
The statement added:
“We will prove our side of the story; we’ll seek legal justice; we’ll find you in the darkest corner and go after you. We will seek justice for Zhang Ziyi by taking legal action against Apple Daily and against any other media publishing these false reports.”‘
Yikes.
