CARLY RAE JEPSEN reveals to entertainment news that a music career is what she has wanted her entire life.
Good thing she got that, then… plus, a mega hit song!
And need we really add, the privilege to grace the cover of Billboard magazine?
That last (obvious) fact is not totally crazy too, given that Carly Rae does have her hit-turned-viral video anthem, “Call Me Maybe” on the top spot of the Billboard’s Hot 100… for the second week now.
But if you think all that or the fact that the 26-year-old fresh new artist was personally chosen by fellow Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber to join his label, has already gotten into her music head, think again.
“Pretty much every day, there’s a moment where I’m having to pinch myself and think, ‘When did this happen to my life?’”
Things have not changed much for the artist either, as she adds:
“What I really love about [it] is that, despite all this craziness the creative process remains the same. And that same exciting feeling that I had before anybody knew me, when I was just beginning to work on ‘Call Me Maybe,’ is the same feeling I had today with RedFoo from ‘LMFAO.’ You can sense the people who really have it are about writing that right word or that right melody to make it lift and make you feel that perfect emotion.”
But one thing’s changed for sure—she’s way busier now! But she admits that she had been warned and well-prepared for what was going to be an awesome music career with an epic start. Her and Justin‘s manager, Scooter Braun, shares to the mag:
“I sat down Carly in my backyard and said, ‘This is not going to be fun. You’re going to be so tired.’ And she looked at me and said, ‘Scooter, I don’t care how hard I have to work. I’m going to do it. This is what I’ve wanted my entire life.’”
Doesn’t sound like a “one hit wonder” to us.
Are you happy about Carly Rae‘s success?
