JESSICA ALBA, DIANNA AGRON, IAN SOMERHALDER And Other Young Hollywood Celebrities Have Breakfast With President BARACK OBAMA (PHOTOS)
Hollywood news reports that JESSICA ALBA, “Glee” star DIANNA AGRON, “Vampire Diaries” hunk IAN SOMERHALDER and other selected young Hollywood celebrities had breakfast with President BARACK OBAMA on Thursday morning as part of his “Young American Effort” in his reelection campaign.
During the second day of his fundraising trip to LA, self-confessed Hollywood fanatic President Barack Obama invited around 25 lucky young celebrities to be part of his private breakfast-slash-meeting held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday to involve them in his “Young America Effort”—a part of his reelection campaign.
Joining Jessica Alba, Dianna Agron and Ian Somerhalder at the breakfast were “One Tree Hill” star Sophia Bush, “The Avengers” actor Jeremy Renner, “Twilight” and “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” actress Anna Kendrick, ”Scrubs” star Zach Braff, “The O.C.” hottie Ben McKenzie, host Jared Leto, “House” actor Kal Penn and more.
The Hollywood Reporter explained of the effort:
“['Young America Effort' is] an initiative to build support and turnout among the younger voters who were key to the president’s election four years ago.”
The stars were also quick to share their photos with the President as well as their experiences during the meet on their Twitter . Jessica, for one, posted a group photo, which she captioned:
“Got up bright & early to hear @BarackObama speak w an awesome group #YoungAmerChat barackobama.com/young-americans”
It seems Agron, on the other hand, tried to keep her composure during the whole encounter, as she tweeted of the President:
“Maybe the only man I truly get nervous around. Worth the early wake up call.”
Somerhalder probably had to pinch himself as he tweeted about the unbelievable experience:
“Totally surreal morning. Met up with some friends, had coffee with President Obama now tweeting. The 21st century… Let’s do this.”
The “Vampire Diaries” star also uploaded a photo of him speaking with Obama, which he captioned:
“Just spent my morning w/this man talkn green energy,a better America&being a young American-wow”
Joking about the rare occasion was Brian Greenberg, who tweeted:
“Just hanging with @BarackObama talking politics, NBA, and making goofy faces. No biggie. #HumbleBrag”
As did Zach Braff, who proved he wasn’t really joking when he tweeted:
“Todays to do list; make leader of the free world laugh.”
As you can see, Zach was able to check that item right off his list!
Sophia was, however, thankful for the teeny reunion that took place during the breakfast, so she tweeted:
“It was amazing to see @iansomerhalder @ZacharyQuinto @DiannaAgron and @BryanGreenberg with the POTUS today. Good peeps. #YoungAmericans.”
Seems like a fun, eye-opening event! We honestly can’t decide who’s luckier—the celebrities or Obama.
What do you think of these celebrities being a part of the President’s campaign?
