KATY PERRY has debuted the music video for her new song “Wide Awake,” the second single off the re-release of her third album, “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.”
Three months after releasing her military-themed music video for “Part of Me,” Katy has again given us another amazing music video for her new song “Wide Awake,” which she performed in public—as a giant butterfly—for the first time at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday.
Earlier today, Katy tweeted:
“…Couldn’t wait until tomorrow, so I’ll be showing you #WIDEAWAKE TODAY”
The video, which shows the purple-haired singer navigating a scary, fog-filled maze (similar to the maze scene in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”) and later attending a kind of wedding where she punches her groom, is explained by Perry in an interview with MTV News:
“I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There’s good parts, there’s bad parts”

I’m so glad that the Wide Awake is getting all of the support it deserves. It could possibly be one of Katy’s best videos, all of her KatyCats are so proud.
