“America Idol” winner PHILLIP PHILLIPS‘ family pawn shop in Georgia was burglarized last night, star news has learned.

Yikes!

While Phillip Phillips is recovering from his kidney surgery with his family in California, one or more burglars targeted his family’s Georgia pawnshop and smashed its back door in order to enter and steal at least $4,000 worth of stuff.

Insiders close to the investigation told TMZ:

“…the bad guy (or guys) took more than $4,000 worth of merchandise … including hand guns, flat screen TVs, antique coins, necklaces, rings and the ENTIRE CASH REGISTER.”

Fortunately, the cash register was said to contain only $110 at the time. Unfortunately, none of the cops from the 25 police cars that reportedly made it to the scene moments later has not arrested anyone yet.

The reported added:

“Law enforcement believes the power and phone lines to the store were cut before the burglary and the backhoe (a piece of heavy machinery used in construction) was hotwired and stolen from a nearby job site.”

How sad.

Good thing they waited until after Phillip had won “American Idol,”—he won’t have to worry as much about the loss.

But knowing Phillip, who reportedly refused to accept his car prize and insisted on keeping his old truck after the competition, he’d probably would…
