Star news reports that RUSSELL BRAND reportedly lashed out at host GRAHAM NORTON for bring up the former’s divorce from KATY PERRY during an interview on “The Graham Norton Show” last Friday… because it made Russell‘s mom cry.

Russell may have hurt Katy a bit when he joked about his previous marriage to the pop star at the MTV Movie Awards recently, but the ruthless comedian drew the line at making insensitive jokes when he went on “The Graham Norton Show” to promote his new film, “Rock Of Ages.”
Apparently, Russell‘s mom started crying when the host brought his ex wife up during the interview and Russell was not at all pleased.
Russell fumed on the show:
“My mom is here. She got upset when you dragged up my marriage. I saw her cry, Graham.”
He continued:
“That’s the reality because it’s real people, Graham, that’s my real mom. I have come here to promote a film and you made my mom cry. I don’t see you as that sort of person, Graham.”
Graham then explained that he’d only asked about Katy as a follow up to his interview with the pop star the week before where they also talked about the divorce, so it would have been weird if he didn’t ask Russell about it as well. But Russell insisted on pointing out the mistake:
“Will people sit and think ‘Oh that’s odd?”
He continued:
“What I would have done, mate, in your position is come up to me before the show and gone ‘Eh, listen it’s a bit odd your ex-missus was on last week. I might mention it, is that OK?
Do you think Russell was overreacting or was his reaction justified?
