ARETHA FRANKLIN admits to entertainment news that she wants to be the next judge on “American Idol.”
Seriously?
Now that Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have officially quit the long-running Fox singing competition—leaving just Randy Jackson in the judging panel, as usual—“American Idol” is looking for two new panelists for their 12th season starting in January next year.
While actor Charlie Sheen and the show’s own runner up from Season 8, Adam Lambert, are reportedly in talks of filling the empty seats, another has-been well-known celebrity would like to become the show’s new judge—the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin!
According to TMZ, the 70-year-old songstress answered via email to the idea of being a judge on the show, saying:
“Yes, I am interested as a judge [on ‘American Idol].”
The thing is, we’re honestly not sure if the 18-time Grammy winner, who made it famous in the 70s, would make an effective judge for aspiring younger crooners…
What do you think?
