Star news tells us that BEYONCE got so upset over the LAURYN HILL diss that was made at the BET Awards last night right Beyonce accepted her award on stage… So she changed her acceptance speech to honor Lauryn.
How sweet of her!
Beyonce is not one to take a diss lightly, especially if its about someone she truly admired. So when veteran R&B star Lauryn Hill was dissed on stage, the Grammy-winning singer honored her.
The presenters, comedian Mike Epps and young group “Mindless Behavior,” jokingly referred to Lauryn, who is currently facing prison years for unpaid taxes, as they presented the Best R&B Artist award to Beyonce.
One member of the group joked to Epps, who was trying to sing:
“You sing bad, like Lauryn Hill‘s tax accountant bad.”
The crowd gasped—including Beyonce, who reportedly scrapped her prepared speech and said onstage:
“I want to thank all the talented R&B women that came before me like Lauryn Hill and Mary J. Blige.”
TMZ revealed:
“When B walked off stage, there was a woman waiting for her — possibly a BET handler — and B began to vent about the insult, saying the Lauryn Hill diss was ‘disrespectful’ and ‘not cool.’”
Clearly, the group’s name was just spot on…
