According to the latest Hollywood news, CHARLIE SHEEN has pledged to donate $1 million of his earnings to a U.S. military aid organization.
Now isn’t that a good guy?
Charlie may have prioritized on spending some of his hard-earned millions on drugs and prostitutes but the reformed crazy warlock, who is reportedly being considered as the newest “American Idol” judge, is willing to give back before he quits acting altogether.
And quite generously, we may add!
According to TMZ, the actor promised to donate 1% of his profits from his newest “Anger Management”–a reported minimum of $1 million–to the United Service Organization (USO), which provides programs and services to U.S. troops and their families.
The former “Two and a Half Men” star said in a statement:
“It’s an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us.”
“They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on ‘Anger Management’ can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families.”
General John I. Pray, Jr., Executive Vice President and Joint Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force responded to Charlie‘s generous offer in a statement saying:
“[Sheen's] support is greatly appreciated, especially from our wounded warriors and their families.”
The actor will be presenting the first installment of $250,000 in a ceremony later this week, which will also go to the USO’s fund for the creation of their seriously injured military troops’ entertainment facility in Bethesda, Maryland.
What can you say about Charlie‘s act of generosity?
