Wanna know what it is?

Anne Hathaway, who is the latest actress to play the role of the tight-suited Catwoman in the last installment of “Dark Night,” went on “Late Night” to talk about the upcoming movie when host David Letterman may or may not have spilled a MAJOR plot point.

If you really want to know, Letterman was talking about how movie watchers don’t really have to go see the previous Batman movies to understand “The Dark Night Rises.”

Then, he calmly said:

“And at the end, Batman is dead.”

After a little pause and a round of applause from the shocked audience, Hathaway scolded:

Dave!”

The two started laughing rather nervously until Letterman said to the audience defensively:

“No, he’s not dead… He ain’t dead, just relax, will you?”

Hathaway warned the host:

“You know [speculation about the ending] is a whole thing… I just want you to know the wrath you have invited onto yourself.”

The actress then looked into the camera and addressed the film’s director Christopher Nolan and apologized, saying that she “had no part in it” and started pointing at Letterman.

Now while many fans believe that Batman could very well meet his demise during this last installment by Nolan, Letterman‘s spoiler may just have confirmed the speculation.

But then again, he and Hathaway could just be kidding around—which would not be a surprise from the both of them—to add to the hype of the soon-to-be-released blockbuster movie.

Will you be watching “The Dark Knight Rises” when it opens next week to see if Batman does die?
