According to the latest Hollywood news, KATIE HOLMES and TOM CRUISE‘s divorce has finally been settled by their very efficient lawyers.
That was fast!
The media may have been making Katie and Tom‘s split seem like the most difficult divorce war of the year, but in the office where their high-powered lawyers have been negotiating, it all seemed like nothing but an easy math problem.
Just almost two weeks after Katie filed for divorce against the “Rock of Ages” star, it seems one of Hollywood’s best (former) couples have finalized their documents in which we expect Katie to get nothing from Tom‘s fortune and their adorable 6-year-old, Suri Cruise, to be the center of concern.
According to Us Weekly, Katie‘s lawyer, Jonathan Wolfe, said in a statement on Monday:
“The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life.”
Although he didn’t reveal any further details, Wolfe did acknowledge those others responsible for the unbelievably fast settlement:
“This result could not have been achieved without the hard work of my partner Gary Skoloff and our co-counsel Allan Mayefsky, Michael Mosberg and Larry Trachtenberg of Aronson Mayefsky and Sloan and Peter Walzer and Chris Melcher of Walzer & Melcher in California.”
He added:
“We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”
We honestly didn’t expect their divorce settlement to be this quick and amicable but we suppose we should just be glad for the couple, shouldn’t we?
