In recent celebrity news, KATY PERRY admits that she wasn’t ready to have babies with RUSSELL BRAND… and it may have been a contributing factor to their split.
In Katy Perry’s documentary movie “Part of Me,” the singer drops not-so-subtle hints as to why her marriage to British comedian Russell Brand ended in divorce—and one of those hints was the fact that she and Russell had disagreements about when they were going to have babies.
Though now dating Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, Perry still finds watching her movie “not always very fun,” since it documents all of the awful moments she suffered while she was struggling to keep her relationship to Brand intact.
Of course Katy didn’t reveal specific reasons in the film as to why the marriage fell apart, but she did show that it was due to the fact that they couldn’t spend a lot of time together as she was on a nonstop world tour… and also because they were on opposite sides every time the subject of children came up.
In a backstage scene from the movie, Russell sends Katy a picture from McDonald’s and jokes that they should name their baby “Ronald” after the fast food chain’s mascot, Ronald McDonald.
A few minutes later, Katy said:
“A baby can’t have a baby — and I’m still a baby.”
Babies, apparently, became a sore spot in the couple’s relationship, driving them further apart. A source tells Us Weekly:
“[Russell] feels there’s no point in being married if you don’t have kids.”
