In recent star news, R. KELLY reveals that romantic film, “The Notebook,” made him realize that his marriage to ANDREA KELLY had died.
We know the tax evading R. Kelly divorced his former back up dancer wife, Andrea Kelly, three years ago. What we didn’t know is what made the R&B artist so sure that it was the right decision.
And apparently, the tear-jerking Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams flick had a lot to do with it!
Kelly revealed in his new memoir “Soulacoaster” that he didn’t feel his 12-year-long marriage was anything like the heart-wrenching love featured in the film.
He explained in his book:
“As the film credits started to roll, I couldn’t move. I burst into tears. People walking past me patted me on the back, trying to console me. ‘The Notebook’ was beautiful, and I was crying because its hero and heroine had died together.”
“But I was also crying because I remembered a Valentine’s Day — when a helicopter dropped a rainfall of roses — that had come and gone … My marriage had died. And there was nothing I could do to bring it back.”
Quite shocking, considering that the film usually inspires its viewers to become absolute suckers for love… and not to run away from it.
Surely Kelly had other reasons…
Do you think watching “The Notebook” was enough reason for R. Kelly to divorce his wife?
