According to the latest entertainment news, MARIAH CAREY is now very close to finalizing a deal with “American Idol” to become one of their judges.
It looks like Mariah is about to become the next “American Idol” judge… despite Nick Cannon’s assertion that the long-running competition show couldn’t afford his wife.
Mariah Carey’s name was one of the first to be floated as a possible replacement following Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler’s departures from the show’s judge’s panel.
And now, it looks like she’s almost close to concluding the deal.
Deadline reports:
“Carey would command a salary of more than $17 million for next season, which would set a new record for talent on a reality series, eclipsing the paycheck of Idol‘s Jennifer Lopez.”
