Hollywood gossip has it that MARIAH CAREY will reportedly be getting almost $18 million from being the newest judge on the upcoming season of “American Idol.”

Somewhere, Nick Cannon is celebrating because his wife, Mariah Carey, just closed a very expensive deal when she signed on to become the newest ”American Idol” judge for their 12th season next year.
Apparently, FOX offered the singer price that dwarfed Jennifer Lopez‘s earning of $12 million from her first season of judging on the show 2 years ago and Britney Spears‘s $15 million offer for her “X Factor” stint.
According to TMZ, sources close to the show revealed:
“Mariah Carey just became the HIGHEST PAID JUDGE in reality television … because her one-year deal with ‘American Idol’ is worth close to $18 MILLION”
One can only wonder how much more she’ll be getting if she decides to continue after her first year on the show…
