After news surfaced that RIHANNA’s grandmother had died, ex-boyfriend CHRIS BROWN and his mom JOYCE HAWKINS immediately wrote sweet tweets of condolences to the singer.
It’s been three years since they broke up (although there are still rumors that they’re secretly dating again) after Brown’s violent assault on Rihanna, and yet it appears that they still care a lot about each other… and so do their respective families.
Over the weekend, Rihanna’s grandmother, Clara “Dolly” Brathwaite, sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer. On Sunday, Rihanna tweeted:
“Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you”
Chris immediately tweeted his condolences to Rihanna and her family—though he didn’t direct the tweet at her. He wrote:
“Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP”
On the other hand, his mom Joyce Hawkins wrote Rihanna directly:
“@rihanna ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL.”
To which RiRi replied:
“@mombreezy thank you! Love u mama”
