After keeping mum about their relationship for months and then breaking news about their engagement just recently, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger have finally decided to open up about their personal lives.
On the cover of the September issue of Hello! Canada, the 27-year-old rocker chick—who broke up with Brody Jenner earlier this year—leaned against the 37-year-old Nickelback frontman and held her hand up to flash her 14-carat diamond ring.
The rocker pair, who met while working on Avril‘s fifth album last February, also revealed their true feelings for each other during their interview with the mag.
Kroeger recalled about their studio sessions:
“I knew I was falling for [Lavigne]. It was incredibly powerful and something I’ll never forget.”
As for Lavigne, who was previously wed to singer-guitarist Deryck Whibley for four years until 2010, spoke of Kroeger:
“[Kroeger] makes me laugh every day. He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive.”
Kroeger added about his fiancée:
“I feel like the luckiest person alive because I get to be with my best friend every day!”
