Recent Hollywood celebrity gossip, KANYE WEST is reportedly in talks of joining “American Idol” as their newest male judge.
Seriously.
Since former judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left the show, Mariah Carey has agreed to sign on—reportedly for a whopping $18 million—as the show’s newest judge… and Fox has yet to find another to fill the other vacant seat.
According to recent reports, Nicki Minaj just might be filling the said spot, although Mariah may not be so happy about it. Another report also states that there is a possibility that Randy Jackson will not return next year so the show might have to prepare to replace him as well.
As if that’s not troublesome enough, another source reveals that should there be two female judges, it may be necessary to have a 4th male judge to balance the panel out.
And according to TMZ, the show is looking at Kanye West, among many others, to fill one of those spots.
The site reported:
“Kanye West is negotiating with producers to become an “American Idol” judge.”
It added:
“Sources close to the production tell TMZ, ‘Idol’ honchos reached out to Kanye recently about filling one of the open judging spots … and Kanye expressed interest.”
Kanye reportedly expressed interest and is currently “on the fence” about it as he’s unsure if “American Idol” is the thing for him. And as for his potential offer, sources reportedly informed the site that “Idol” would have to “at least match Mariah‘s salary.”
How ambitious!
