According to the latest entertainment news, RANDY JACKSON has officially quit “American Idol” as its judge but will remain on the show as a mentor.
We all saw it coming… Randy, the show’s supposed sole remaining original judge, has finally decided to leave the “American Idol” judging panel. And now that he, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler have vacated their seats, only Mariah Carey remains to be the only sure judge on the show as of now, with Nicki Minaj nearing a deal to sit beside her.
Many other artists are being rumored to be filling the 3rd and 4th judge spot, including Nicole Kidman‘s rocker husband, Keith Urban.
Not to worry though, we’ll still be seeing Randy on the show as a mentor. As for why he had to stay, TMZ revealed:
“Sources connected to “Idol” tell us …here’s some concern among the brass that [Jackson] is not well-suited for the mentor role … but they feel they need him because he’s the glue that helps keep the show together.”
Further reports reveal that the 4th judge will probably be “from the country music world for the third seat” and that rumored judges P. Diddy and Kanye West are “definitely out of the picture.”
Good luck, “Idol.”
