RIHANNA has just revealed that she “was more concerned about” CHRIS BROWN than herself in the aftermath of the infamous assault that he launched on her back in 2009 in her recent tell-all interview with OPRAH WINFREY.

In a previous snippet from the interview, celebrity news saw RiRi tearfully referring to Chris as her “best friend”… but in this latest preview, the singer opens up about how she “was more concerned about” her abusive ex following the violent attack that led to their breakup three years ago.

Rihanna tells Oprah:

“I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched, switched in a night, and I couldn’t control that… so I had to deal with that, and that’s not easy for me to understand or interpret. And it’s not easy to interpret on camera, not with the world watching.”

While fighting back tears, the Barbadian beauty added:

“It became a circus and I felt protective. Like, I felt like the only person they hate right now, is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in, because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help … and who’s going to help him?”

The “We Found Love” singer, who has since forgiven Brown and even collaborated with him on two remixes, continued:

“Nobody’s going to say he needs help… Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source… and I was more concerned about him.”

Wow.
