Finally, she admits it!
Rihanna has finally confessed to what the whole world has suspected for some time now… she still loves her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, in spite of the fact that he viciously assaulted her three years ago.
Her tell-all interview with Oprah on “Oprah’s Next Chapter”, which aired on Sunday, was shockingly candid—especially when the discussion veered towards her former lover. The Barbadian singer, who was in tears almost the whole time, confessed to Oprah that Chris was her “best friend”, that she was “more concerned about him” than herself in the wake of their breakup, and that she still misses him every once in a while…
And then the shocker—that she still loved him.
When Oprah asked Rihanna (right after she confessed that she recently met up with Chris at a mutual friend’s party in St. Tropez) what it’s like when she sees her ex, the “We Found Love” singer replied:
“It’s awkward… It’s awkward because I still love him.”
And when Oprah asked her if Chris was a “true love” for her, Rihanna said:
“Absolutely. I think he was the love of my life.”
But in spite the reality that her heart still belongs to him, Rihanna is adamant that she and Chris are not seeing each other romantically—as most people are inclined to believe—and that their relationship now is strictly platonic. She said:
“We’ve been working on our friendship again, and now we’re very, very close friends. We built a trust again.”
Rihanna added:
“We love each other and we probably always will. And that’s not anything that we’re gonna try to change… it’s not something that you can shut off.”
Whew! Chris Brown, your move!
