ROBERT PATTINSON Finally Does First Post-Scandal Interview, Refrains From Bashing KRISTEN STEWART
ROBERT PATTINSON has finally done his first post-scandal interview… and proving that he’s a true gentleman, he refrained from bashing his cheating girlfriend KRISTEN STEWART.
It was reported that the actor’s anger at his estranged girlfriend (or perhaps the right word is ex-girlfriend, because Forbes recently reported that they had already broken up) was “starting to wind down,” and it certainly looked that way in his interview—his first since Hollywood news first broke the story that Kristen had been cheating on him with married director Rupert Sanders—on “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart.
Rob, who immediately moved out of the L.A. mansion he shared with Kristen when he learned of her cheating “trampire” ways, was visibly nervous during the interview, but seemed cheerful and in a laughing mood.
When Jon asked him what he’d “been up to”—an obvious reference to his recent relationship troubles—the “Cosmopolis” star smiled and said:
“I thought we’d already prepared this. I had a joke prepared. I was all set up and ready to go. Now it’s meaningless.”
Jon then produced two tubs of ice cream and said:
“We’re just a couple of gals talking.”
The host added:
“So what are we doing here? I’m worried about you. Are you alright?”
Robert replied:
“I literally don’t know how to approach this now… This is the weird thing about these interviews, and now I’m going to sound like an idiot, but my biggest problem in my life is that I’m cheap. I didn’t hire a publicist and every awkward interview, normally actors get these things scripted.”
He added:
“I’m going to hire a publicist.”
As the two ate their ice cream, Jon said:
“The last time I had a bad break-up, Ben & Jerry’s got me through the tougher times, so I thought you and I could bond over this, and talk about ‘Boy, you are better off without. Kick her to the curb.’”
He added:
“When you are young and you break-up, it feels like the world is ending but this is the first time I have actually seen the world react that way. It’s insanity. So here is my wish for you, that you get to handle your business in private, in your personal life and I wish you all the best.”
Aaww. Jon was so sweet to Rob!
