In recent star news, SHIA LABEOUF has revealed that he dropped acid for his latest movie role in “The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman”, which had a scene where his character became high on the psychedelic drug.

Either he’s super dedicated to his craft… or he’s super dumb.

We’re guessing it’s a mixture of both.

Shia, who recently swore off big budget movies like his “Transformers” films, appears to be in the process of honing his acting skills by actually doing what his character is doing in the script… to make it look totally authentic.

The actor’s acid trip comes after his controversial appearance in an artsy music video for Icelandic band Sigur Ros, in which he appears fully nude, and the announcement that he will be doing real sex scenes in Lars Von Trier’s “The Nymphomaniac”—something that his girlfriend Karolyn Pho was not a fan of.

So what’s with this new method of actually doing what the script says instead of faking it like all the other actors out there? Shia tells USA Today:

“There’s a way to do an acid trip like Harold & Kumar, and there’s a way to be on acid… What I know of acting, Sean Penn actually strapped up to that (electric) chair in Dead Man Walking. These are the guys that I look up to.”

But the actor insists that despite the fact that he’s slated to do unsimulated sex scenes for “The Nymphomaniac”, he still has some boundaries when it comes to what he will or won’t do for a role.

He says:

“There are rules… I have ethics, I’m not completely out of my mind.”

Aren’t you, Shia? Aren’t you?
