SOPHIA BUSH admits that being single for so long “has been amazing” for her.

Sophia, who manages to glow with or without a man by her side, has been single since she broke up with her on-and-off boyfriend for six years, Austin Nichols—who is the third guy that she’s dated from the recently-concluded series, “One Tree Hill,” after Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty—in February and she does not regret it one bit.
The sexy CW star admits that riding solo and living life as a successful, single woman has actually been exhilarating and fulfilling—an experience that she wouldn’t exchange for a romantic relationship.
She told Us Weekly:
“Being on my own has been amazing. I don’t know if it’s coming into my thirties or what it is, but I’m such a sucker for love and I believe in it and I always want it to win.”
She continued:
“By nature, I think as women we are nurturers, we’re caretakers, and me in particular. . . I want to take care of everybody else. And to have spent so long now just taking care of myself and my girlfriends and enjoying that, it’s so good. I think it’s so important.”
Sophia also admits that being on her own actually teaches her how to be a better girlfriend. She explained:
“I don’t think you can really, truly be the partner you want to be until you know on an absolute level that you are a complete person on your own. I think that’s something all women deserve to know. So many fairytales we read as children — and the love stories we watch on TV when we’re older — tell us that we’re not enough unless we have man. And it’s like, ‘No, homie! You can be a bonus when I have time for you in my life.’”
After being married, divorcing and experiencing more heart break afterwards, you’d think that Sophia would have such a strict standard for her ideal man, but the actress simply states that she’d love to wait and have someone who is ”altruistic,” “passionate about the world,” “educated, creative and inspiring.”
