ANNALYNNE MCCORD opened up about her experience of being sexually assaulted at human trafficking charity gala that she hosted in Los Angeles last week.
While AnnaLynne McCord plays a character (Naomi Clark) who was raped by her high school teacher on “90210,” no one would’ve thought that she had a similar experience in real life.
Once again, the sexy 25-year-old actress took the chance to speak on the sensitive issue while hosting the Life Is Love event by the anti-slavery and anti-human trafficking non-profit group, Somaly Mam Foundation, last September 22.
With her fellow “90210” co-stars in the crowd—namely Jessica Stroup, Matt Lanter, Shenae Grimes, Justin Deeley and Ryan Eggold—McCord said:
“Has anyone ever been raped? Sexually abused? Not said ‘no’ when you felt you didn’t have the right to? I know what it feels like.”
The actress, who hosted an auction to raise money on the Foundation’s behalf, revealed:
“I had a very similar experience to what these girls go through 20 times a night. It happened to me once by somebody that I knew, and it is a very interesting thing to feel that you do not have the voice to say ‘no.’”
McCord added:
“It wasn’t an attack or anything like that — I just had no voice. I did not know how to say, ‘I don’t want this. Please.’”
Yikes…
Fortunately, the actress survived the ordeal and is making efforts to help other victimized young women and girls. She continued:
“I did not have a voice, and now I do, and I’m practicing using my voice for others. Finally I can say I was taken advantage of — not from my own shame that I did something to deserve that — and now I can have a clear conscience.”
Good for you, AnnaLynne!
What can you say about her revelatory speech?
