KATE MIDDLETON has just sued the French magazine that published her topless photos, according to the latest celebrity news.

Unsurprisingly, the Duchess of Cambridge is seething mad over the topless photos that were taken of her while she and her husband, Prince William, were enjoying some pool time together at a private home in France… photos that were made available for the public’s consumption on the cover of the French magazine, Closer.

And we totally feel for her because, unlike the other topless photo scandals, Kate didn’t take the pics herself… it wasn’t like she took self-shots of herself naked and then “accidentally” posted them on Twitter, or saved them in her phone or computer for some hacker to feast upon.

She was just the victim of an incredibly intrusive paparazzo.

Immediately after the photos were published, the Royal Family released a statement in reaction to the scandal:

“Their royal highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner.”

But of course, they didn’t stop there.

TMZ reports:

Kate Middleton and Prince William have declared war on the French magazine that published naked photos of [Kate]– filing a lawsuit today against the publication… A rep for St. James’s Palace released a statement saying that “legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France” by the royal couple.”
