Recent celebrity news has learned that KRIS JENNER‘s interview on the “Today Show” aired on NBC this morning, interrupting the 9/11 moment of silence that most networks were supposed to provide coverage to.

Geez.

You may have noticed that at 8:46am this morning—the exact time when the first plane hit the World Trade Center exactly 11 years ago—all cable networks in New York and Washington D.C. aired a special tribute for the infamous terrorist attack that shook the whole of America.

And while the other networks like “Good Morning America” and “CBS This Morning” covered the tribute, you saw “Today Show” airing an interview with the fame-hungry Kardashian momager, Kris Jenner.

So what was so important about the interview?

Well, Kris talked about her breast implants and why she decided to televise footage from her recent breast enhancement surgery on a recent episode of her family’s infamous reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
She told the host, Savanna Guthrie:

“Take them out and change [implants] after 10 years… It was so important, health-wise, to remind women to check your expiration date because it’s a health risk.”

Jenner also took the chance to dish on the flourishing relationship between her most famous daughter, sex tape kitten Kim Kardashian, and her rapper boyfriend, Kanye West, whom she labeled as a “really a great guy”:

“I think they are well suited for each other and I think they are really, really happy and anybody who has kids knows that when your kids are happy, you are happy.”

While this may come as a shocking strategy to earn some ratings, NBC—who actually owns E!, the network that airs “KUWTK”—a spokesperson from the network released a statement to TV Line to defend their decision:

“The Today Show dedicated a considerable amount of time to September 11th coverage this morning throughout the entire show.”

On second thought, perhaps NBC was kind enough to provide an “escape” for those who found the reminder of the tragedy a little too much to bear.

Do you still think “Today” made a bad choice going with a Kris Jenner interview instead of the moment of silence?
