RYAN LOCHTE thinks SETH MACFARLANE‘s parody of him on “Saturday Night Live” was pretty harsh.
Well, they were joking after all…
Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, who has proudly made brief appearances on “30 Rock” and in the new “90210,” is slowly learning how it’s like to be sort-of famous in Hollywood.
In the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live,” Seth MacFarlane mocked the gold medalist by impersonating him while giving a hilarious “preview” of NBC’s new fall shows for “Weekend Update” anchor, Seth Myers. But while the “Family Guy” creator cracked up thousands of audiences, the gold medalist found the parody pretty cruel.
In addition to “Lochte” saying how “it feels so weird to be dry,” the swimmer told Myers after being asked about his busy summer:
“I was America in Olympics.”
During his introduction of new NBC shows like “Animal Practice” as “Monkey Hospital,” MacFarlane (as Lochte) also said he was “excited about the show ‘Goon,’” which he explained was actually called “Go On.”
The real Ryan Lochte reacted about the parody to Celebuzz, saying:
“Well I gotta admit that was a pretty harsh one, but it’s cool to have Seth parody me. I think he pegged me wrong.”
But Lochte was still a good sport, adding (and referencing the show’s “Go-od” joke):
“It’s all in fun and, of course, if I’m talked about on ‘SNL,’ I know they are gonna get me ‘Go-od.’”

This was actually one of my favorite skits of the night. Seth MacFarlane was spot on with his impersonation of Ryan Lochte. I think the quote that made me laugh most was, “If you hold my ear to your ear, you can hear the ocean.” All around, I think this was a great start to the new season. I set up my Hopper to record the entire season to the two terabyte DVR since I work late at DISH, and am unable to see them live. It’s nice being able to record what I want without worrying about space. I know that I’m excited to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt this weekend!
