Too funny!
In recent star news, Canada’s one and only punk rock princess was hilariously impersonated by her ex-hubby Deryck Whibley—whom she split from in 2009—at a Halloween bash over the weekend, with his girlfriend Ari Cooper by his side as Avril’s fiancé, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger.
Sporting Avril‘s signature heavy black eyeliner, as well as her blonde locks with neon green and hot pink streaks, Deryck looked exactly like his ex-wife.
Well, sort of.
While it’s unclear if Deryck and his new lady’s costumes were meant as a diss to Avril and Chad, it seems unlikely as the former spouses have notably remained amicable since their divorce—even while the “Girlfriend” singer was coupled up with reality star Brody Jenner, whom she dated for a while before she got engaged to Kroeger.
Still, when the Nickelback rocker heard about his soon-to-be-wife’s ex-husband’s costume, he took to Twitter to give his slightly catty response:
“Hey Deryck, loved the costumes! We were going to dress up as you guys this year but all the parties had celebrity themes haha.”
Burn? Not really… it’s not like Chad is any more of a celebrity than Deryck.
