Carly Rae Jepsen finds herself being threatened with a lawsuit that claims the lyrics from the massive hit that catapulted her music career into super stardom, “Call Me Maybe,” is not original.

According to TMZ, a bodacious Ukranian singer named Aza is suing the pop singer (and her, Justin Bieber and Psy‘s big-time artist manager, Scooter Braun) in Los Angeles for taking some of the lyrics from her slutty Christmas song, “Hunky Santa.”

Aza, who wants big money (considering how famous Jepsen‘s hit is) for damages, told the site:

“I’m shocked and surprised that these people wanted to sample my lyrics on their song. They didn’t ask me for permission, they just took it. That’s why I filed this lawsuit.”

She recalled hearing Carly Rae‘s allegedly unoriginal track for the first time:

“When I first heard it on the radio, I was driving and almost got into an accident. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.”

However, Carly‘s rep insisted:

“This is completely false and [Carly's] lawyers will deal with this. Everyone knows [Carly] is a songwriter. She is not spending a lot of time listening to Ukrainian radio.”

As for how similar the lyrics really are, you can judge for yourself below:
