Justin Bieber may have a huge following both online and in real life—just check out his Twitter and his sold-out “Believe” tour—but once in a while, he encounters unenthusiastic crowds.

On Sunday, the teen superstar performed at the halftime of the Canadian Football League championship’s Grey Cup in Toronto—where the Toronto Argonauts and Calgary Stampeders battled against each other—and he didn’t quite get the reaction that he has gotten used to.

The “trouble” started when his photo was being flashed on the big screen while performing his hit songs, “Boyfriend” and “Beauty and a Beat,” and it sounded like the Biebs was being booed by his huge crowd.

Fortunately, he wasn’t shooed off stage and he simply went on with his performance, seemingly oblivious to the fact that he was being snubbed by his own country men.

He tweeted after the show:

“Honored to perform for my country. #ProudCanadian. Good luck in the second half, thanks.”
