STEVEN TYLER has responded to NICKI MINAJ‘s reaction to his controversial interview about the current “American Idol” judges line-up… and he insists that he’s not racist.
According to recent entertainment news, Steven Tyler is defending himself against the feud-loving Nicki Minaj and her comment about him being “racist” for saying that the current “American Idol” line-up wasn’t as effective and helpful as the one during his time—which previously included him and Jennifer Lopez, alongside the show’s mainstay judge Randy Jackson.
If you can remember, the Aerosmith vocalist said during that fateful interview:
“If it was Bob Dylan, Nicki Minaj would have had him sent to the cornfield! Whereas, if it was Bob Dylan with us, we would have brought the best of him out, as we did with Phillip Phillips.”
This, of course, didn’t sit well at all with Minaj, who is now a part of that judges panel that Tyler was bashing in the interview. She tweeted after calling his comments “racist”:
“You assume that I wouldn’t have liked Bob Dylan??? why? black? rapper? what? go f*ck yourself and worry about yourself babe.”
Then on Tuesday, Tyler owned up to his actions and said during an appearance at a Canadian talk show:
“I apologize if it was taken wrong, Nicki. But I am the farthest from [being a racist].”
“I am the last thing on this planet as far as being a racist. I don’t know where she got that out of me saying I’m not sure how she would’ve judged Bob Dylan.”
Tyler later emphasized:
“Maybe I spoke out of turn… But a racist I’m not, Nicki.”
What do you think of Steven‘s “apology”?
