In recent star news, TAYLOR SWIFT shared that she actually promised an ex that she won’t write about him but she did it anyway.
We all know Taylor Swift is pretty notorious for writing songs about her ex-boyfriends who messes her up so naturally, the last few were worried about her publicizing their faults and whatnot in her song.
In fact, one particular ex even asked the five-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter to leave him out of her future lyrics, to which Taylor agreed… only to write about him anyway!
She admitted in an interview with The New York Times:
“Of course I was like, ‘Oh, don’t worry, I won’t.’ And then I did.”
To her defense, she explained:
“Look, it’s not like it was written somewhere in the fine print that I write songs about my life. If we break up, I’m going to write about it. But I’m probably also going to write about when I fell in love with you. So there’s an upside.”
We—and her guys—may not have an exact idea what or who she’ll end up writing about but we can always try to decode them. For example, even John Mayer presumed “Dear John” was about him, just like we think her chart-topping “Red’ album is mostly about her other ex, Jake Gyllenhaal.
But Taylor never spills—except through her cryptic lyrics. She said:
“I don’t talk about who it is specifically because these are real people. You try to give insight as to where you were coming from as a writer without completely throwing somebody under the bus.”
Sounds pretty reasonable to us!
What do you think about Taylor getting her most of her song material from her songs?
