“American Idol” Executive NIGEL LYTHGOE: RYAN SEACREST Would Be “Very, Very Difficult To Replace” (VIDEO)
“American Idol” Executive Producer NIGEL LYTHGOE told Hollywood news that he thinks the show’s host, RYAN SEACREST, would be “very, very difficult to replace.”
Aaww, Ryan probably feels warm and fuzzy right now!
Now on its 12th season, “American Idol” has renewed its judges countless of times but one person keeps on coming back for every new season (except the show’s sole original judge, Randy Jackson, of course)… and that’s their host, Ryan Seacrest.
Which makes us wonder… Would the show end if Seacrest were to leave “Idol”?
TMZ reporters had the same question in mind so they asked the show’s executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, who responded:
“I’ve never believed that Idol as a franchise is beholden to any individual because everybody said it would die the minute Simon Cowell left, and it hasn’t.”
Nonetheless, he acknowledged Seacrest‘s significance by saying:
Ryan Seacrest drives the entire program. He’s not on an earpiece or anything. He’s not beholden to anybody. He controls the show. He’s really important.”
“It would be very, very difficult to replace Ryan Seacrest.”
We couldn’t agree more. We love Ryan on the show!
Do you think “American Idol” would suffer a slow death if Ryan Seacrest left his hosting post?
