While everyone was preparing to celebrate the coming of yet another year with crazy until-dawn parties and a massive load of alcohol, Demi Lovato advised  her fans about the true meaning of NYE celebrations and appreciation of a better life.

The “X Factor” judge, who has openly talked about her past psychological and health troubles and her road to recovery, posted a slew of tweets on Monday:

“So crazy to look back and reflect on how much has changed this last year. I wonder what will happen in 2013?!”

Then, she revealed:

“Two years ago, I watched the ball drop on TV in rehab and cried my eyes out. Tonight I’m on the beach with my closest, most loyal friends, sipping coffee and sharing how beautiful life is and how far we’ve come.”

Lovato declared:

“Recovery is a beautiful thing friends.. Life is good, God is great!”

Always one to set a good example for her fans, Demi once again gave some words of advice for her loyal followers, writing:

“Everyone please be careful and smart tonight. NYE is about celebrating the past year and the year to come.. Set goals and dream big.”

The young singer added:

“By the way – just reminding teens out there that you don’t have to drink on NYE to have fun. Be the difference.”

We’re proud of you, Demi!
