JULIANNE HOUGH admits to celebrity news that she was abused as a child, in an interview with Cosmopolitan’s February 2013 issue.
Now that doesn’t look like a once troubled woman at all.
When it was time for American actress Julianne Hough to star in another Nicholas Sparks novel-turned-movie, “Save Haven,” the “Rock of Ages” star had to recall her darkest memories past in order to effectively portray an abuse victim.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan’s February 2013 issue, Julianne opened up about having remember the “horrors” of being under abuse when she was taking dance classes (where she got her stripping skills) at London’s Italia Conti Academy as young girl.
She shared about her terrible past:
“While I was in London, I was abused, mentally, physically, everything. [It got worse] when I started hitting puberty, when I started becoming a woman and stopped being a little girl.”
Hough also revealed that she had serious threats thrown her way in addition to all the abuse. She explained:
“I was told if I ever went back to the United States, three things were going to happen. One: I was going to amount to nothing. Two: I was going to work at Whataburger. And three: I was going to end up a slut. So, it was like, I can’t go back. I have to be this person.”
So when it was time for her to film the movie, she let it all out.
“I went from bawling to containing to laughing to crying again. Josh [Duhamel] was crying. I think it was the most therapeutic moment of my life.”
We’re sure it will show when we get to watch “Safe Haven” on Valentine’s Day!
