JUSTIN BIEBER has sent his “thoughts and prayers” to the family of the paparazzo who was killed on New Year’s Day while trying to take a photo of his car.
As recently reported by celebrity gossip websites, a paparazzo named Chris Guerra tragically died on Tuesday morning after getting hit by a car while he was trying to take photos of Justin Bieber’s Ferrari.
The singer was not driving the car (he had loaned it to a friend) that Guerra had been chasing and was in no way connected to the accident, but nonetheless decided to extend his condolences to the paparazzo and his family in a statement:
“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim… Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
It’s no secret that Justin has had a very difficult relationship with the paparazzi. They’ve been hassling him incessantly ever since he first became famous, and in some instances, he’s retaliated by flipping them off or even physically fighting them (at least according to one photog, who filed a criminal battery case against the Biebs in May last year).
Bieber has since been advocating an “anti-paparazzi” law in the hopes of getting some form of protection from these dangerous paparazzi incidents.
