In case you missed it, here are all the New Year’s Eve performances by JUSTIN BIEBER, TAYLOR SWIFT, PSY and more during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in Times Square.
It was only fitting to end 2012 by listening to the year’s biggest hits, such as “Call Me Maybe”—the song that catapulted Canadian music biz newbie Carly Rae Jepsen to instant fame (and spawned hundreds of singing-and-dancing videos on YouTube); some of the breakup songs off Taylor Swift’s new album “Red” (which currently has the highest number of sales in the first week of its release compared to any other album since 2002) such as “I Knew You Were Trouble” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together”; Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat”—which still contains his on-again-off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez’s name even though he was reportedly going to remove it after they broke up—and “As Long As You Love Me”; and of course, this year’s BIGGEST song… Korean pop sensation Psy’s phenomenal hit “Gangnam Style,” which currently holds the title of “Most Viewed Video” on YouTube.
First up was Jepsen with “Call Me Maybe.” Before the show, the singer tweeted:
“Tonight is the night! Dedicating my performance on @OfficialNYRE to all my fans! Tonight at 8pm on ABC! #HappyNewYear”
After the show, she wrote:
“Had a blast performing in Times Square! Nobody knew i had long johns under my skirt…till now;) #RockinNewYearsEve.”
Next up was Psy, who recycled his 2012 American Music Awards performance and danced with MC Hammer to a mashup of their songs, “Gangnam Style” and “2 Legit 2 Quit.”
After their performance, the Korean singer tweeted:
“How was #HammerTime in Time Square!??”
Taylor Swift went on stage next in a red leather jacket (surprised?) and her signature red microphone to perform “I Knew Were Trouble” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
But before the show, Taylor tweeted:
“So excited to be in New York playing on @OfficialNYRE! It all starts at 8pm ET on ABC. Can’t. even. verbalize. how stoked I am for 2013!”
The blonde beauty’s New Year’s Eve then ended on a perfect note because after her performance, she shared a sweet last kiss for 2012 with her current boyfriend, One Direction’s Harry Styles, at midnight.
Fans were then seized by a bout of Bieber Fever (their last one for 2012!) when the singer took to the stage to perform an acoustic version of his song “Boyfriend”:
“Beauty and a Beat”:
And “As Long As You Love Me”:
“2012 has been incredible. hope everyone is having a great new years. Let’s go out BIG and have a great 2013. #MUCHLOVE to everyone! thanks”
Happy New Year, everyone!
