Hollywood news has learned that celebrities are being urged to “adequately” cover up their private parts (including breasts!) when they attend the 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday.
Hear that, J.Lo?
This year’s Grammys aims to clean up their nominees and celebrity guests… or at least their appearances for the televised prestigious music awards night this coming Sunday.
According to an “email” warning that has surfaced online, CBS Standards and Practices have warned all their “talent” against risque outfits this year—which means no plunging necklines, usually acceptable displays of cleavage, sheer barely-there outfits or dresses that ask for “accidental” wardrobe malfunctions.
The letter, which got very into detail, reads:
“Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered.”
“Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure.”
That wasn’t all.
The letter also explains that showing off any brand or organization name that is “visibly spelled out” on clothing or accessories is prohibited. (Yes, not even those pins for humanitarian causes!)
” Please avoid commercial identification of actual brand name products on T-shirts. Foreign language on wardrobe will need to be cleared. OBSCENITY OR PARTIALLY SEEN OBSCENITY ON WARDROBE IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR BROADCAST. This as well, pertains to audience members that appear on camera.”
We’ve yet to hear any—hopefully not—violent reactions from stars who already have their designer cut-out dresses ready but as for Stevie Wonder, he has no problem about, um, not seeing much skin this weekend.
Stevie told TMZ:
“Children watch it too, ya know?”
He makes a good point.
