ROBERT DE NIRO Bursts Into Tears While Discussing Bipolar Disorder In “Silver Linings Playbook” (VIDEO)
According to star news, ROBERT DE NIRO burst into tears while discussing bipolar disorder, which was exhibited in his latest movie, “Silver Linings Playbook.”
Robert De Niro, who usually plays an overly strict father in the movies he showed his sensitive side while discussing his latest Oscar-nominated movie, “Silver Linings Playbook,” (for which Jennifer Lawrence recently bagged awards for Best Actress) in an interview with Katie Couric.
Together with his sexy male co-star Bradley Cooper and the film’s director David Russell, they explain how their movie was inspired by Russell‘s son—who made a cameo in the movie and is also diagnosed with the mood disorder—and how it aimed to touch on the subject of the particular mental problem.
Katie then asked De Niro:
“Did you feel a greater responsibility about doing a film that [Russell] had so much personally invested in?”
De Niro then broke down in tears after saying:
“Oh, of course, I understand what he…”
It was a major change in atmosphere, considering Russell had the audiences laughing (despite the topic) just moments before, but De Niro recovered seconds later after a teary-eyed Bradley comforted him by putting his hand on his shoulder and Katie gave him a tissue.
“I don’t like to get emotional, but I know exactly what [Russell] goes through.”
