Ashlee’s rumored new guy is in a band…that Pete’s record label produces! Ouch. Did Pete introduce them?

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been seeing Craig Owens from the band D.R.U.G.S., which just released its first album on Pete Wentz’s record label. The mag has three pix of Ashlee and Craig hanging out together, and apparently they were seen holding hands at the Beverly Center Mall, and they even kissed on the lips.

Is it really that fast for her to move on? And if she was the one to dump Pete, then she had already moved on in her head probably. Do you think this is Ashlee’s new man?

Ashlee and Pete spent a lot of time apart. Is it really a surprise that trust and infidelity became an issue?

Reportedly, Pete was hooked on several prescription medications and also had a bit of a wandering eye. Ashlee got fed up with his crap and threatened to leave him. He apparently didn’t heed her warning and continued his antics, prompting her to file for divorce.

She was pressuring him to go to rehab, but he didn’t listen. So she took off and filed for divorce. A source said, “Ashlee realized that Pete had become a functioning addict and that he wasn’t making any effort to quit.” Reportedly, he’s been taking Ambien, Xanax and OxyContin. The source added, “When Pete drinks and takes pills, he goes wild. Ashlee doesn’t trust him to be faithful.”

It’s too bad they couldn’t work things out, because they seemed so happy in love when they did get married. Do you think it’s too late for them if he does go to rehab if the pills part is true?

The problem with their romance is that Audrina is in LA and Ryan is on the East coast. Hmmm. From Zimbio:

According to the New York Daily News, the two were spotted out on Sunday night at the Broadway show Rock of Ages, where they looked pretty friendly. A spy told the gossip site that they were “holding hands and getting very cozy,” but they clearly didn’t want to be photographed together. They avoided the paparazzi and took individual pictures with the cast backstage after the show.

Well, I hope Ryan is good for Audrina and that she is happy. All that man jumping must be exhausting! Chris Pine, Corey what’s his name…we can’t even keep up!

After being followed by paparazzi in NYC, Pete and Ashlee ducked in to a costume shop. Yeah, that’ sure threw them off course. Ashlee bought an old woman and Pete donned a monkey mask. Wouldn’t you just feel stupid walking around like that? It seems that more people would stare at you then.

By the way, it is really hard to keep a theme song from the other Simpson’s out of my head as I write this. Which makes me wonder, are the two families similar? Sure, Marge Simpson has blue hair, but Ashlee’s changes a lot too. And then there’s freaky Pete. No more to say.

Regardless, according to several well-placed sources Nicole has told writers to etch out a central role for Simpson.

“The two women and their children spend a lot of time socializing together, and Nicole decided she’d like to work with her close friend. Nicole’s generous offer could not have come at a better time for Ashlee.
The 25 year-old former pop star is still being devastated over being uncermoniously axed from “Melrose Place” just two months into the season. She made her Broadway debut on Nov. 30, taking on the role of Roxie Hart in a revival of “Chicago,” but her planned 10-week-run ends in February.

Eh, why not? Just imagine all the splashy press photos of Ashlee and Nicole and the gossip that is likely to ensue. The press alone will keep the vehicle running for at least five episodes.

Ashlee was thin, pale and went back to dyed black hair. Jessica was tan, blonde and curvy. Talk about extremes. Their dad said via Gossip Girls:

Papa Joe Simpson recently told press that Ashlee’sejection from “Melrose Place” wasn’t that big of a deal. “It was never a loss. The world says whatever it says. [The world], again, always want to make it look like we’re failures but we’re really just a family that works hard.”

“My children look at ups and downs and rise up above it all and remain strong…We’re just normal people, and we always try to be who we say we are.”

That is true – they always appear to be working. They don’t just club hop and shop. Jessica and Ashlee actually do produce some things worthy of attention quite often. Whether it’s good attention, however, depends!

Pete and Ashlee got together right at the peak of his career, and Pete kind of ignored it from then. OK, not ignored, but was distracted. He says via from Contact Music:

The rockers have decided to shelve the group indefinitely to allow them all more time to concentrate on their own projects.

Wentz is convinced his high profile relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, which propelled the rocker into the gossip columns, had a negative impact on their music and he wanted to take a step back to stop his celebrity persona from overshadowing the band.

He tells British magazine Kerrang!, “My biggest personal reason for taking a break is that I feel my name has become a hindrance for the band.

I wonder if this is the real reason or if the band mates will come forth with another version. Good luck Pete!

Ashlee’s people tried to put it out there that she knew her contract was short term and that she wasn’t fired. Her leaving was planned. Riiiight. From Fox News:

“Ashlee was kicked off ‘Melrose Place’ because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members,” the insider spills. “It created a lot of discord among the cast.”

Another big problem, says the snitch?

“She could barely act.”

Ouch. She can’t really sing, now people claim Ashlee can’t act either? What’s left for her to destroy try? maybe Ashlee should just focus on being a mom to Bronx and staying out of the spotlight for a while.

Jessica took to The Mighty Twitter and proclaimed:

“CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”

While producers tried to cover their own behinds by saying Ashlee was never meant to be a permanent cast member, ultimately her dismissal was because she was “embarrassingly bad.”

Sources at usmagazine.com said:

“They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” a set insider told Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible…She’s the worst actress, but nobody will tell her.”

Sigh. What’s Papa Joe gonna do now? His Simpson girl empire is crumbling! Ashlee should just throw in the towel on this artsy thing she’s been trying (and failing) to do and just design a line of crap for Hot Topic with Pete Wentz.

“Well, we always knew that this murder mystery would end in episode 12. And we always knew that [Ashlee's] character of Violet would be instrumental in that as a suspect, and [Colin's character of] Augie as well. And once that murder mystery was solved, she would go on her way. That was the original plan going into the development of the show…once the murder mystery was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift into a much more fun, romantic, sexy upbeat kind of show, and [her] character would move on.Same thing with Colin?
SLAVKIN: Colin was always meant to be the ultimate suspect. And his brooding alcoholic [character] tonally didn’t fit the paradigm moving into post-murder mystery Melrose Place.

Oh, snap! This must be showbiz speak for “we just don’t think this is a good fit.” Just when we were beginning to think Ashlee had figured out this whole “working” thing.

Ashlee apparently told Pete to not bother to come home. He should have answered his cell phone sooner! From Star Magazine:

But when she called Pete to talk things out, he didn’t answer, which only enraged her. After repeatedly calling him (and getting his voicemail), Ashlee finally reached her husband – and snapped. An insider says she screamed, “Don’t even bother coming home! I don’t want to look at you!”

… that same night, Pete posted on Twitter, “Money doesn’t grow on trees. Neither does happiness,” before referring to himself as an “a–hole.”

It’s sad to say, but usually good things don’t happen with young, accidental pregnancies. I hope Ashlee and Pete can weather this storm out, but it doesn’t look good right now.

Ashlee says she had a great time with her husband and they did not fight. I guess she doesn’t deny the drunk story, but she does the fight and the yelling. From Actress Archives:

Shortly after the report appeared on Hilton’s blog, Ashlee tweeted to Pete, “I had so much fun with ur parents last night. Thanx for dedicating the DJ set to me. Love you more magic. I miss u already.”

15 minutes later Simpson added a message directed at Perez, reading “When all you do is make up untrue stories — look in the mirror. Do you even feel human? Karma is a bitch. Your story is WAY off.”

It didn’t end there because Perez responded to Ashlee calling him a liar!

Minutes later, Perez defended himself, noting “I don’t wanna name names and get people fired but several of the people I spoke with work at Angels & Kings. I’m not wrong.”

Ashlee’s response? “WRONG. My husband is an amazing DJ and was dedicating songs to me. We were just havin fun. Our love is amazing. Get ur own life.”

OK, I kind of want to gag over the amazing love thing, but it does seem like there wasn’t a fight. Were employees making it up to hurt Ashlee and Pete?

Ashlee got really drunk during Pete’s show in Chicago this weekend.  It is beginning to appear to others that Ashlee may need a trip to rehab to fix her problems. According to Perez Hilton:

Multiple multiple sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Simpson proceeded to get really REALLY drunk – and belligerent!

One of many eyewitnesses we spoke with tells us that Pete was in the DJ booth when Asslee “came up completely wasted and yells at him to leave. They fought, she told him he was horrible in front of a whole group of people and made him leave his own party early. So they make a scene and leave the bar.”

Ashlee, you need to get it together girl! You have that sweet baby Bronx to take care of. Pete isn’t so bad, just make him wash a little bit of eyeliner off!

Ashlee and Pete were sitting right behind Michelle and her current boyfriend. It appeared they were friendly until Michelle made a remark that Ashlee didn’t like, which then she went nutso over. Gossip sites are saying it was a catfight, Ashlee’s rep says it was nothing. But if it was nothing, why did she need to apologize?  From OK! Magazine:

“It was just a misunderstanding,” her rep explains to OK!. “Ashlee has since apologized to Michelle and they remain on good terms.”
