Ashlee Simpson and Nicole Richie are teaming up to co-star on Richie’s new sitcom. Nicole Richie pitched an idea to ABC and they swallowed it and as a special present to her friend Ashlee, Nicole has gifted her a role. Now, this is risky. As we all know, Ashlee was fired from Melrose Place because producers were convinced she couldn’t act.

Dad says Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are not failures. Ashlee made her debut on Broadway last night and looked, well, dark and scary. Jessica was curvy and blonde. Dad Joe Simpson said of his girls that dabble in a lot of things but never truly excel, they haven’t failed.

Pete Wentz blames Ashlee Simpson Wentz for Fall Out Boys’ problems. Ouch. That can’t be too good for the marriage! Fall Out Boy is taking a break until Pete at least, can get things together and calm down.

Ashlee Simpson was a diva. Ashlee got herself canned from the set of Melrose Place because she acted like a spoiled brat and didn’t make much effort in her role. So, the show head honchos axed her in order to make room to pay for bigger stars, like Heather Locklear.

Ashlee’s people tried to put it out there that she knew her contract was short term and that she wasn’t fired. Her leaving was planned. Riiiight. From Fox News:

Ashlee Simpson (much to EVERYBODY’s chagrin) scored a role on the revamped Melrose Place on the CW. It only took a few short months before producers realized she couldn’t act and fired her.
