Country crooner Carrie Underwood’s first hit single was vengeful breakup anthem “Before He Cheats,” but when Extra caught up with her at “Idol Gives Back,” Ms. Underwood seemed ultra cool about her split with Chace Crawford.

“We broke up over text so… it’s like ‘peace out,’” Carrie told our Terri Seymour. “I don’t know why it’s all out now,” Carrie continued, “when you break up with somebody and then like two months later it comes out, it’s like you’re rehashing old stuff.”

American Idol narrowed its list of contestants to 12 on Thursday, sending home 18-year-old Danny Noriega and retaining former male stripper David Hernandez.

American Idol is the No. 1 U.S. television program and has launched the singing careers of pop star Kelly Clarkson and country singer Carrie Underwood, among others. Winning a spot among the coveted final 12 is a young performer’s step toward stardom!

There you go…you did it kiddos, you don’t have to make it to the # 1 spot in Idol - you’re the final 12 - you can be another Jennifer Hudson.

Carrie Underwood is beautiful. Look at her photos at the Grammy Awards 2008. I don’t notice too much of her as I do with other artists, Underwood is underrated. She’s absolutely gorgeous. Ok, I am not into country music, hit me. I love the Rihanna stuff. I love the pop and the hip hop not the country type of gal but Underwood, she has the voice, sings well and she is gorgeous!

Carrie Underwood, Beyonce and Elton John will be among the performers at the first-ever Movies Rock concert celebrating the relationship between music and film. Underwood will be performing the song “The Sound of Music“.The event will be held Dec. 2 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, and will air on Dec. 7 in a two-hour special on CBS.
