Gwyneth told People.com:

“People tell me, ‘Oh you had a fight. They’re pitting you against each other and I just think, ‘Why do we need to make a problem between women?’ I think that’s the part that’s lame,” she says. “I adore Scarlett. I loved having her on set,” the actress says. “She is really funny. She swears a lot. She has a dirty sense of humor. She loves to cook. She’s like a girl after my own heart.”

I would say no poses together is pretty telling that they fought over food and some other issues. From the Mirror:

Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow refused to pose together on the red carpet in LA on Monday.

It further fuelled speculation that the pair didn’t get on during filming.

The dispute reportedly stems from what mum-of-two Gwyneth, 37, saw as her younger co-star’s “attention-seeking” on set.

Also, Gwyneth didn’t feature in the movie’s promotional posters while Scarlett, 25, appeared clad in a sexy black catsuit – apparently adding to the tension between the two.

While Scarlett has played down talk of a feud, Gwyneth’s silence on the matter speaks volumes.

Her agent was at pains to point out she was “not at all upset” about being missing from the film posters, but didn’t take the golden opportunity to deny a rift.

Meow! It’s also said that Scarlett wants to get a spinoff of her sexy own. Do you think Scarlett should get a spinoff? Is Gwyneth justified in being grouchy?

“The relationship between Madonna and one-time best friend Gwyneth Paltrow has gotten pretty chilly, and according to an insider, neither seems ready to make the first move toward reconciliation. Madonna and Gwyneth are both Type-A personalities,” her pal says. “They had a silly argument weeks ago, and now they both seem to be holding a grudge. The squabble was over business: Madonna wanted Gwyneth to work on a video with her, and Gwyneth refused, says the pal, adding, “They were also working on a book together that went nowhere.”

This is fantastic casting. The only other person we could think of who would be even more man-like in the face and body is Tilda Swinton. Alas, she must’ve been booked.

While Star magazine has this as a top item for tomorrow’s issue, it was Lainey Gossip that got the real insider scoop.

“I received calls about it on Saturday from other magazines. Chris and Kate were supposedly kissing in the open at a U2 show in Vegas two weeks ago in plain view. Which means that there was more than one witness. And each witness went to a tabloid. And each tabloid was scrambling to source it. And Star Magazine beat everyone else to the punch.”

Hm. Wonder if this will be a topic on Gwyneth‘s next GOOP newsletter. “A Quick, Organic How-To On An Open Marriage.”

Gywneth was returning from a show in Barcelona after watching her husband’s band Coldplay. The Daily Mail also has some interesting quotes where Gwyneth bigs up Spain. Gwyneth is all about some Espana:

“Moses speaks a little bit, but understands everything. Apple speaks a lot.’” Such is her love of the language, Gwyneth has launched a Spanish version of her lifestyle website Goop.com. She is also hoping to show off her skills in a Spanish movie in the future. ‘I would love to. I haven’t found the script yet, but the first (movie) would have to be a small role, not very important, because I imagine I would have to get used to acting in Spanish.’”

Fox411 has a source that claims nobody liked Gwyneth on set.

“Gwyneth is extremely cool at work. She’s just a step above professional, too snobby. Gwyneth is not friendly to anyone, and tends to make people feel awkward and uncomfortable. She wasn’t outright rude to Scarlett, she just didn’t ever speak to her. Gwyneth went out of her way to avoid Scarlett, and they had zero contact, at Gwyneth‘s choosing.”

Why do we think this “source” is a Scarlett friend or fan? Anway, they continue with:

“Gwyneth would be very put out if hair and makeup were running behind or things were not on schedule. Usually, nothing was drastically late, but Gwyneth can instantly say something that lets everyone know she is put out,” the source explains. “Much of the crew didn’t mind hanging out with her husband, Chris, but if Gwyneth ever came around, they scattered! Chris is so chill and relaxed and she is just the opposite. Chris has been a crew favorite since the filming of the first movie.”

Scarlett is getting more advance press – waaay advance press since Iron man 2 isn’t due out until May 2010 – and Gwenyth is jealous. The Daily Mail says:

A source said: ‘Gwyneth was afraid she’d be upstaged by Scarlett and not being in the campaign was the final straw.

‘She is furious she’s been left out.’

Gwyneth, 36, now plans to boycott a promotion in San Diego later this month.

‘She’s heading to New York instead, she’s so angry,’ added the source.

The tiff before was Gwenyth didn’t approve of Scarlett’s eating habits. Scarlett lost weight. Now Gwenyth doesn’t like her sexy co-star in leather in all the ads? Come on…I don’t believe it. Scarlett in that leather suit is what will get people buying tickets and more tickets sold = dollars for everyone!

Since Madonna was allowed to adopt Mercy on Friday, Madonna has been busy getting things ready for her. Mercy may even be in Madonna’s care as early as this week. From the Sun:

The singer is pulling out all the stops to give new adopted daughter MERCY the most glamorous pad she could wish for.

And she has called on pal and fellow mum GWYNETH PALTROW to supervise.

Gwyneth has a home in the Hamptons area of New York and Madonna was so impressed with her daughter APPLE’s room that she asked Gwyneth to help her kit out Mercy’s new bedroom.

Maybe Madonna called in her pal because she doesn’t know what is age appropriate for a three year old’s room. Considering she is a 50 year old dating a much, much younger man, she probably doesn’t know.

The Sun reported today:

Gwyneth has become very frustrated with Scarlett. They come from different worlds and have completely different styles. Gwyneth has found Scarlett very demanding of the attention of the crew. It’s not a happy set. Gwyneth and Scarlett have never been particularly close. Gwyneth was looking forward to working with Emily Blunt, who was originally in line for the part, but it ended up being Scarlett. Gwyneth’s had to live with that and she has been very professional, but she and Scarlett haven’t developed a friendship on the shoot, which is almost at the half way point. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.”

Anyway, Gwyneth refuses to name names but wrote (via Page Six):

Back in the day, I had a ‘frenemy’ who, as it turned out, was pretty hell-bent on taking me down. This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all of those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and dangerous. I restrained myself from fighting back. I tried to take the high road. But one day I heard that something unfortunate and humiliating had happened to this person and my reaction was deep relief … and happiness. There went the high road!”

As we all remember. Gwyneth and Winona shared an apartment together. As the fable goes, Winona attempted to steal away the Shakespeare in Love role, to which Gwyneth eventually won the Oscar. The two never resumed the friendship.

Gwyneth says a lot of far out hings, but this I can believe.  She truly looks and acts like she loves her children and protects them from publicity and being in the spotlight.  So for her to want more, I’m not surprised.  From The Sun:

“At first I thought ‘OK, that’s it, I’m done, no way will I have more.’

“Then my son turned two and you think, ‘Oh, I don’t want this to be the last two-year-old I have.

“Maybe I’ll do one more.”

In a chat with New magazine, Gwyn added: Motherhood enriches your life in the most incredible way.

Well, with a husband away on tour, getting pregnant will be a little trickier.  Unless she plans on doing what pal Madonna does, and tries to buy a baby.  Good luck with the pregnancy Gwyneth!

Scarlett is filming with Gwyneth on the set of  Iron Man 2.  The two began working out, and the next thing you know, Scarlett has lost her curves.  From The Sun:

So it comes as a disappointment to learn the bubbly blonde’s famous assets may disappear after being put on a strict diet by GWYNETH PALTROW.

The actress has reportedly lost over 14lbs since she began working out with her Iron Man 2 co-star in preparation for the movie.

A source told Star magazine: “The pair have been doing daily workouts with Gwyneth’s personal trainer TRACY ANDERSON.

If Scarlett went seeking help, that’s one thing.  If Gwyneth and her goop went after the actress because she wasn’t svelte and gaunt, then that’s another.  Gwyneth should keep her hands to herself!  Scarlett looks great.  Do you think the brown hair is a result of Gwyneth telling Scarlett to stay away from chemicals?  I bet it is….

Gwyneth is pals with Madonna, who is of course known for her strict diet – called macrobiotical – and eats only organic foods.  Everyone can believe what they want, but then Madonna and Gwyneth also enforce tight restrictions on TV, music, etc, etc to the outside world.  Maybe this distance from the real world is what is causing Gwyneth to seem and sound very eccentric.  According to The Mail Online:

Gwyneth Paltrow has been branded ‘loopy’ by scientists after warning that products such as shampoo could be linked to cancer.

‘A couple of years ago I was asked to give a quote for a book concerning environmental toxins and their effects on our children. While reading up on the subject, I was seized with fear about what the research said.

‘Foetuses, infants and toddlers are basically unable to metabolize toxins the way that adults are, and we are constantly filling our environments with chemicals that may or may not be safe.

Miss Paltrow quotes Dr Philip Landrigan, a paediatrician (sic) at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in California, saying that children are ‘at risk of exposure’ to 80,000 chemicals.

While I may not like Gwyneth and her macrobiotic diets, I believe she is on to a bit of something here.  Who would think that chemicals in the air and in our food would be healthy?  Scientists should see a bit of a correlation, if not a direct link.  I mean, really, would you want to put chemicals in your children to dispute her theory they are safe?  No way.  And obviously keeping chemicals away from them can only be a good thing, but I think Gwyneth takes it to the extreme.

She was quoted in London’s Mirror as saying:

I’m feeling mother guilt because my daughter’s looking forward to going, but my son always says, ‘I don’t want to leave my London house’ – and I feel pretty guilty about that… I just try to say, ‘Well, but we’re going to swim and it’ll be sunny.’ I try to point out the positives…“I barely ever do films – I’m with them almost all the time. But in a way it makes the transition harder. I feel like if I worked all the time, then they would be used to it. But when I’m always there, and I’m always doing school runs and I’m always around – and then I just disappear for 14 hours a day to film – it’s hard.”

Perhaps she should take tips from Brangelina. They always seem to make it work (scoff).

Gwyneth responded to People saying:

“I think the people who are criticizing it or criticizing the idea of it, don’t really get it, because if they did, they would like it. I think that people like people to stay in their ‘box’ – they like people to stay how they are comfortable seeing them.”

We think GOOP, which preaches about Kabbalah, the Master Cleanse and getting reservations at expensive New York City restaurants, is a silly vanity project, but Gwynnie has full right to produce it. Would you expect a New York City blueblood to be in touch with the middle class? Consider the source. This is a woman who has time to work out for three hours everyday for Godsakes.

Those shorts need to be burned. You know how some articles of clothing are just wrong? Yeah. Those shorts. WRONG. The cut, the material, the belt. A pair of shorts have to work pretty hard to make Gwyneth Paltrow look frumpy. We’re not thrilled with the shirt, jacket, or shoes but those items could’ve been passable (we guess) had she worn something more flattering on the bottom.

World News says:

They made a pact never to be pictured together but now Gwyneth Paltrow is planning to walk the same red carpet as husband Chris Martin – to scotch rumors that their marriage is in trouble. Gwyneth, 36, has agreed to present an award at the US Grammys next week, where Chris, 31, will be performing with Coldplay. ‘If Gwyneth has her way, she will appear hand-in-hand with Chris,’ says a source.

I’ll be convinced.  Especially if they look lovey dovey and fake.  Chris hates being photographed.  Gwyneth is usually less than polite, so this should be interesting.
